I have a fondness for Tarot cards. I don't believe they have supernatural powers, I just think it's an interesting art form, especially for seeing how different artists interpret the same series of concepts.
So, have this rather nifty modern version of the Major Arcana.
(Edit: and then I went a-browsing the guy's other works, and now I have a new desktop background. Also, the warm fuzzies that come from looking at this one and picking the inspiration.)
(Edit the second: and these should not be missed.)

Date: 2010-11-18 02:59 am (UTC)Now I'm trying to imagine how this artist would interpret the minor arcana and whether I could actually read this deck with a straight face.
(No, I'm not going to argue that Tarot cards have Super Special Mystic Powers; I read them to nudge my subconscious into churning up aspects of tangled situations I haven't considered yet. YMMV.)

Date: 2010-11-18 10:41 am (UTC)The Thoth deck is my favourite of all the ones I've encountered; Crowley may have been a publicity-hungry showman, but I love the imagery and the execution. Also, that it doesn't stint on the Minor Arcana as so many of them do.
(I've been known to use them in exactly the same way, although in this case I was writing a story, got stuck, and thought I might find something there to jog my brain. I do have a copy of the Thoth deck, but it's IABS.)
