Went to Canberra last week for training. It was surprisingly good (although would have been more useful a couple of years earlier) and the session on 'Standards & Classifications' that I'd expected to be painfully dry turned out to be fun and extremely relevant to my current project. Got to catch up with lots of Central Office people and have some interesting/useful meetings.
Then back to Melbourne, where we got to meet krfsm and his lovely partner! We took them to Wunderkammer and the Dandenongs yesterday, then Organ Pipes today before they flew on to Sydney.
This afternoon Rey, Ratboy and myself went to see Charlie Ross' One Man Lord of the Rings. Very good, well worth seeing (assuming you've watched all the Extended Editions). He did the voices pretty well, but what really impressed me was how he managed to do the faces of several different characters in quick succession.
Tomorrow: werk werk.
