Hippo!
And another game last night. The party's mage didn't fireball me this time, although we're still working on the "when the enemy are tightly clustered together and none of us are in the middle of them, THEN you can fireball them, what the hell are you waiting for?" bit.
I think the highlight of the session was Ilde the dwarf mowing down orcs and ogres at long range, in heavy cover, with horrifically accurate longbow fire. Not exactly what one expects from a dwarf.
Then the other dwarf managed to fulfil the stereotypes by letting bloodlust override common sense and charging into battle when it was totally unnecessary. I managed to save his bacon when he ran into trouble with the first ogre. But when, having lost most of his HP, he decided to charge the ogre mage and provoke an attack of opportunity, all I was able to do was avenge his death. Er, and prevent the other party members from looting his gear against his wishes.
Edit: Via RISKS, Jeremy Clarkson learns an unfortunate lesson. At least he had the good grace to admit to being pwned (and it's nice to see the money went to a good cause).

Date: 2008-02-03 07:07 am (UTC)Tactically astute, ruthlessly efficient. Nope, pretty much EXACTLY what I expect from a dwarf in a D&D campaign ;)
