Via [livejournal.com profile] silmaril and various others: try to identify these ten movies by a selection from their IMDB keywords (no looking it up). If it's any help, I've seen all of these.

1. Told in flashback, elevator, lawyer, cigar smoking.
2. Goldfish, German expressionism, spiral, pier. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] bunnyhugger.
3. Shot in the knee, double life, father figure, mind game.
4. Androgyny, night vision goggles, sequel, elevator. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] reynardo.
5. Boss, cockroach, bitten in the throat, nightclub. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] elynne.
6. Pitchfork, communism, paranoia, B movie. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] torin3.
7. Altering history, endless loop, zoo, epidemic. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] krfsm.
8. Altering history, motivational speaker, shot in the eye, love. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] hacked2death.
9. Fugitive, elderly, cellar, boarding house. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] reynardo.
10. Spiral staircase, redemption, hidden camera, realization. Picked by [livejournal.com profile] culfinriel.

For bonus points: what other keyword do all of these have in common? (It's not 'noir', BTW - quite a few of these would qualify for that, but not all.)

For #6 I want to say Invasion of the Body Snatchers... At least I seem to remember that it was referred to as an anti-communist movie.

I haven't looked at the other comments, so although #7 has been pegged, I'll go ahead and call it "Twelve Monkeys". I want to say #1 is "War of the Roses", but I'm not sure where "elevator" would fit in there; "chandelier" would be better. Similarly, #3 makes me think of "Matchstick Men," but again I have no idea where "shot in the knee" comes from. #5 is obviously a vampire movie, but it could be any one of a number... it does fit all the requirements for that semi-awful one with Nick Cage, though... damn, I've seen it a couple of times, what's the title? "Vampire's Kiss," that's right. "AAALLVAAAAA!!"

#7 yes, #1 and 3 no, #5 yes. I rather like that one, though it's certainly not a 'fun' movie.

Is #10 The Sixth Sense? I seem to remember it was heavy on symbolism and redemption and realization sort of fit. I'm not sure about the hidden camera though?

Yes. Remember the bit with the mother who poisons her children? The kid who died had a camera and accidentally filmed her doing it; the ghost leads them to the tape.

#3 - can't remember the title without googling, but Tom Hanks, 30's Irish gangster, Perdition Road, maybe? Comic conversion, father and son on the run from the mob, father used to be a mob hitman.

Can't remember if he gets shot in the knee, but it was kinda noir.
