Things to be pleased about.

#1: Got more thesis written today. Still on the same chapter, and it goes agonizingly slowly; it takes, at a conservative estimate, an hour to hash out one short paragraph. Because I don't want to make too much of my results - I *know* their limitations - but I don't want to make too little of them, and that middle ground is hard to find. But all progress is progress.

#2: Got absence-of-access-to-network-drives problem fixed. Result: for first time in about four months, can back up my work to somewhere other than C drive on my work computer. This is a GOOD THING.

#3: Almost over wretched flu that has been at me for the last week.

#4: Have completed two (admittedly short) pieces of writing that I'm rather happy with this week. One is the story I posted a few days ago, the other a special request for friends. Hoping this will help provide the impetus to get back into 'Chimera', the long story I've been working on for a very long time now. It stalled due to time pressures, plot problems, and a new character who demanded to be in the story, requiring much fleshing-out. But I'm over most of those, and hope to be getting on with another chapter or two soon.

Actually, IIRC I only sent you the first couple of chapters... I got up to #6 (though they will be revised ad nauseam as continuing storyline requires.) I can send you the others if you like.

Speaking of which, still have to read the piece you sent me. *guilt guilt guilt*
