A late V-day present for all the scientists out there: seventh-graders' impressions of scientists before and after a visit to Fermilab :-) I think the drawings tell the same story as the text, but more clearly.

That was mostly adorable.

I was a little disappointed, though, by the prevalence of comments along the lines of "The scientists were normal/cool people and not nerds/geeks at all!" Most of the scientists I've encountered were utter geeks, while also being cool people. I'm probably asking too much, but it'd be nice to see a few of these kids coming away with the impression that being a geek wasn't utterly dreadful, or that nerdhood and being a "normal person" were not mutually exclusive.
