- Anakin/Amidala romance, as vital as it might be to Star Wars continuity, felt contrived and unconvincing. If sophisticated, strong-willed, scantily-clad older women in Real Life fell for whiny, pushy fifteen-year-olds who don't take "back off, you're making me uncomfortable" for an answer, well... let's just say there'd be a lot less fifteen-year-olds watching George Lucas movies.

- I don't care if they *did* roll through a meadow together, ever so spontaneously.

- "One parsec from Tatooine". I get the impression Lucas doesn't know what a parsec is: by astronomical standards, literally next door. The odds of that happening by chance in a Milky Way-sized galaxy are about one in a million million... EIII had better explain this as something other than an absurd coincidence.

- Major planet that relies on *selling stuff to other planets* for its income. They probably advertise in the Yellow Pages, for crying out loud. Making them 'vanish' by deleting them from a single database is pretty... feeble. Even if Darth Foo *wanted* to put up a red flag saying "Come Investigate Camino", this is a pretty dodgy way to do it.

- Christopher Lee reprises his Wizard Wrestling Federation moves.

- Whole Anakin's-mom-dying bit more than a little cheesy.

- Special effects are nice, but at some points it looks like the plot was abridged to make room for more exploding droids.

- I think 'Galaxy Quest' said all that needed to be said about 'chompers' scenes in sci-fi movies.

* He's 19, and he's "the One" anyway, so normal rules don't apply here, I suspect. No, I'm not being apologetic, because...

* Completely agreed about the chompers scene. I don't think Lucas ever saw Galaxy Quest. He should be made to memorize it.

Yes, 19. I plead a badly failing brain.

And you were too busy poking me in the ribs at the time to take notice, anyway.

Just out of curiosity...

Silmaril, I don't think I know who you are (other than a friend of Cerebrate and Turnberry.) If I do know you from somewhere else, please put me out of my misery and remind me ;-)

No, I don't think I know you from anywhere else, but the humor content of the notes you left for Cerebrate made me think you would be worth reading... If you're uncomfortable with that, I can stop with apologies.

But, quick recap of what I am: Doctorate student in electrical engineering, musician, dancer.

No, no problem, I was just curious. Sometimes people I *do* know from elsewhere have shown up under baffling nicks.
