Pinched from [livejournal.com profile] elynne:

1. cats score: 31: I'm very fond of cats; when I was little I insisted on being called 'cat', and my parents still occasionally use that as a nickname. But [livejournal.com profile] reynardo and [livejournal.com profile] da_norvegicus are both allergic, so I make do with Other People's Cats. And while I like cats, so do half the human race, so it didn't seem worth putting down.

2. reading score: 31: I am vaguely aware that there are a vast number of people out there who don't take an interest in reading, but the concept is still so alien to me that listing 'reading' would be like listing 'breathing'.

3. art score: 29: See 'reading'.

4. drawing score: 28: Other people's, absolutely. Several of my LJ friends are very talented in this regard, and I will happily ogle their work all day long, but it's not where my talents lie. Which is really just a glib way of saying "they have worked long and hard at becoming talented, and I haven't". I am interested in far more things than I could possibly become good at, and that's one of the many I haven't done more than dabble in. That said, I'm not primarily a visually-oriented person, with some odd exceptions.

5. goth score: 28: implied by 'notagoth'.

6. chaos score: 26: implied by 'shattering psyches', 'scarring fragile minds', and various others.

7. androgyny score: 22: I suppose, but that would be like "being a redhead" or "being born in California". It's not so much an interest as a fact of life.

8. comics score: 21: I enjoy the odd comic, but there aren't a lot I try to keep up with. For ongoing storylines, it's mostly Girl Genius and Fables these days. For weekly/daily funnies, there's [livejournal.com profile] dinosaurcomics, [livejournal.com profile] doonesbury, [livejournal.com profile] dorktowerfeed, [livejournal.com profile] irregular_comic, [livejournal.com profile] perry_bible, [livejournal.com profile] spamusement, and Order of the Stick, with [livejournal.com profile] someposifeed and Scary Go Round somewhere between the two.

I am still, theoretically, working on a comic-format story, although it's been on hiatus for a few years now.

9. leather score: 20: I like the stuff; I prefer the feel of natural fibers, especially leather and silk. It's pretty and nice to wear, and I own quite a bit of it (especially my Wedding Boots of Doom). I occasionally do a bit of leatherworking, and I've made a few gifts for friends. And yes, leather can be sexy... but it's not something I'd really call a special interest for me.

10. dragons score: 19: Okay, here's the deal. I play D&D and I read fantasy on occasion, so like anybody else in that basket I have some interest in dragons. Somewhere along the line, I bought something with a dragon on it, or maybe it *was* a pottery dragon that I thought looked cute or something. And a friend saw this, took it to mean I had an Interest in dragons, and got me a couple more dragon-related things. And then another friend noticed all these dragon-related things, deduced that I must love them, and got me more, and so on... and eventually I moved city and hid my dragons away in boxes for a while. (OK, not quite cause-and-effect, but anyway...) So although I do like dragons & stories about dragons, I think 'gaming' conveys the extent of that interest quite adequately.

11. gothic score: 19: see 'goth'.

12. piercings score: 19: Not my thing. Heavy piercing in others is vaguely icky to me, some stuff is cute and/or attractive, most of the time I'm neutral - I'm not a terribly visually-oriented person. For myself, not interested. Not a matter of squeamishness, just that I don't think it would do anything for me and I'd probably end up fiddling with a piercing until it got infected.

13. punk score: 19: I like some things described as 'punk', others do nothing for me. Truth be told, I'm still not entirely sure what 'punk' is.

14. tattoos score: 19: Can be very pretty indeed on other people ([livejournal.com profile] silverblue being a case in point). Don't feel the urge to get one myself, except maybe for a tag on the back of my skull reading "Removal is punishable by law".

15. deviantart score: 19: I like individual artists, some of whom are on deviantart, but I don't really follow the site itself.

16. coffee score: 18: Never been a coffee drinker. Tried it very occasionally, didn't like the taste, don't want the dependency.

17. melbourne score: 18: Okay, I might add this one.

18. cavorting score: 18: Cute, but I have enough cutesy interests already...

19. nick cave score: 18: I suspect my liking for Nick Cave's music is directly dependent on how messed up he was when he wrote it. Since Murder Ballads, he seems to have straightened out his life a lot, and sadly this has pulled the teeth out of his music for me. I'd trade everything he's done after Murder Ballads for one more 'Mercy Seat'.

20. monty python score: 18: cf 'unabashed geekhood'.

And, ganked from [livejournal.com profile] krfsm:

I can't really pick *the* six favourites; there are just too many songs I love and can't rank. But half a dozen that leap to mind:

Peter Gabriel, 'Signal to Noise'.
Gary Numan, 'Metal '98'
Roxy Music, 'Running Wild'
Siouxsie and the Banshees/Danny Elfman, 'Face To Face'
Einsturzende Neubauten, 'Sabrine'
Sinead O'Connor, 'Lullaby for Cain'.

Edit: I have decided to add 'drawing' to my interests after all, but only so I can also add 'quartering'.

Ow! Hey! ;)

7. androgyny score: 22: I suppose, but that would be like "being a redhead" or "being born in California". It's not so much an interest as a fact of life.

Hmm... good point, and that makes me wonder if it's on my interest list or not. Nope.

re: dragons - I have a Reason for having dragons on my interest list. It's one of those woo-woo Reasons that I'm actually pretty shy of talking about in public, so.

re: piercings - that reminds me: one of these days, I will have the money and the courage at the same time, and get a tongue stud. That's the only "body piercing" I want, other than the little rings in my ears.

re: tattoos - I'm fascinated by the entire tattooing process, and the history, technology, aesthetics, and culture...

So, um. Hi! :) I need more coffee.

On tattoos this may be of interest :-)

I tried it and got ... nothing.

No scores of any sort.

perhaps if I listed an interest other than flan

but that would be silly.

I think it's because 'flan' ended up with an extra full stop in your interests lists - there are quite a few flan-fanciers on LJ.

That must have been it, the period at the end. I noticed I wasn't on the list of those listing flan as an interest
