So,
hasimir mentioned that in 2002 Family First's founder, Andrew Evans, attended the Adelaide Forum, an event presented by the Australian Freedom Foundation.
He noted that tapes of the event are made available by the Australian League of Rights (a notorious right-wing group, buddies of David Irving). But I thought, that's two degrees of separation - maybe Evans had no common ground with the ALR, and they were involved for disparate reasons.
( So, let's just look at the AFF, shall we? )
Even without the ALR connection, that gives a pretty good feel for what sort of people the AFF are - and, hence, what sort of event a forum presented by them would be.
Oh, and god bless the Internet, without which I would know exactly none of this.

If anybody has an account, would they mind taking a look at this and see if you-know-who really did claim that "The Taliban is no longer in existence" - and if so, whether there was any exculpatory context*.
So far the only other places I've found it have been on Kerry/Edwards sites, and I'm cautious about taking sound bites out of context. So I'll reserve mockery pending confirmation.
*Like, say, a variant definition of "is".
