There's a song the Inkspots did. It begins with the same intro as every other song of theirs (and I mean the SAME intro - sometimes they do it in a different key, but it's always the same.) It shows up in the 'Fallout' intro, playing in a ruined city on a broken record, and it captures the bittersweet loneliness of that game perfectly. I replayed Fallout a week ago, and now I can't get it out of my head...
Maybe
You'll think of me
When you are all alone
Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue - then what will you do?
Maybe you'll sit and sigh
Wishing that I were near
Then maybe you'll ask me to come back again
And maybe I'll say - maybe.
Maybe you'll beg of me
When you are lost, alone
Maybe the one who is waiting for you
Will prove untrue - then what will I do?
Maybe you'll sit and sigh
Wishing that I were near - then,
Maybe you'll ask me to come back again
And maybe I'll say - maybe.
