I have a bit of a prejudice against limited-use magic items (scrolls, potions, wands) - it feels like I'm wasting money when I could be using something renewable. But I'm learning that Scribe Scroll can be really useful for occasional contingencies: spells that I wouldn't normally include in my daily loadout, but can be lifesavers just once in a while.

Like, when you're surrounded by four hungry sharks and a smallish dragon, and the entire party has 20HP between them, a Darkness spell can be really useful for Plan Run Awaaaaay. Which seems appropriate for a character who's a Mythos cleric.

Also: why is it always sewers? Why is it never "oh the only possible way to where you need to be is through M. Royale's House Of Boutique Cheeses And Tasteful Furnishings"?

Maybe they're saving "M. Royale's House Of Boutique Cheeses And Tasteful Furnishings" for when you're in a hurry and the only way is to go through with a large party, quickly and with massive amounts of property damage.

Personally, I think the evil cults really need to think about their setup. I mean, where's the first place you're going to look for them? It's not M. Royale's House Of Boutique Cheeses And Tasteful Furnishings, that's for sure.

Though I guess it's probably hard to rent space. Most evil cults tend to bring down the property values in the neighborhood.

Well, just having a party of adventurers in the neighbourhood tends to bring down property values, in our game. Like that one time where we accidentally exploded the sewer system (see!) into the town's drinking water supply.

But our current party seems to be an exception to that rule. Despite the whole "cleric of Hastur" thing. If I make it to 9th level I'm planning to take Leadership, at which point I need to look into cultist digs.
