Record funding for Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) across Australia was announced last Wednesday. The newly created Vision CRC, formed in part from the existing CRC for Eye Research and Technology, will receive $32 million for a seven year period - one of the largest single grants ever awarded to a CRC.
(It's not going to buy my vote, but the funding is appreciated.)
