A reminder of more innocent times.

While waiting for the train this morning, I browsed through a stack of old magazines in the waiting room - some are ten years old, whatever people bring in and donate.
One in particular, a 'Bulletin' from 1996, caught my eye. Only six years ago, but the cover story - illustrated with a Hollywood picture of fiery destruction raining on the White House - reminded me just how great the gulf is between the 21st century and the 20th, how much of our innocence we've lost since then. If only I could go back in time and give them some warning of the horrors that would bring the 20th century to a close.
To be specific here, the cover story was describing Independence Day as "the worst movie ever made".
