They are called 'cockroach baits'. Not 'spaniel baits'. I realise your dietary habits are much the same, but I would appreciate it if you would henceforth refrain from attempting to eat them.

(Meanwhile, my pocketbook thanks the manufacturer for making them sturdy. He had pulled them out of the box and taken them outside, as he usually does with things he's not allowed to have, but he doesn't seem to have gotten at the bait. I'm not sure why he bothered looting the box when I'd already placed six around the house, but I very much hope he's satisfied his curiosity.)

da_norvegicus got a ticket to see Weird Al for his birthday, and somebody had to escort him, so we had an entertaining evening. And for an encore, Al sang the whole of "Close To You" straight...
