A page from an algebra text.

But it was the photo caption that got me laughing out loud. Somebody hasn't done their homework...

I just laughed myself into a coughing fit.

Also proving laughter is not really the best medicine, I think.

.... I'm honestly terrified. Is this the appropriate response?

I hope so, because that was my reaction, too.

Please, if I ask really nicely, tell me that thing isn't actually published. No? <whimpers>

All I got was an about:blank page.

That's all I saw w/Opera, but it worked right in Firefox.

That's hilarious. Subversion from within, or just someone really really clueless?

*noddle* Dragging it over to Firefox was the first thing I tried, but that didn't work for me either. All v. odd.

Anyway, the lovely [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen has described some of what I missed, so it's okay...

Algebra student text. Quoting selectively from it:

"The most important reason to study algebra, however, is that you grow more Christlike."

The photo shows a bridge, with a caption that talks about how this sort of construction shows "human creativity in the image of God and God-given dominion over the earth". I'm not sure that the Tacoma Narrows Bridge is quite the best illustration of that principle, though...

I think the 'BJU' is 'Bob Jones University', which would be in keeping with the general tone of things.

Ah. *snerk* There's definitely a lesson in that...

Thanks for clarifying.
