Just happened across this Register article (might trip keyword-based work filters), in which the now-online 1901 UK Census results are discussed, and it becomes apparent that the Victorians weren't any more mature about such things than our own generation. Either that, or an awful lot of last names have died out in the last hundred years...

Also, it's a bad sign when life starts imitating cheesy Paul Hogan movies.

I quit pro bleeding, but I still bleed in the amateur leagues now and then...

Mind you, I think I'd die laughing if you told me that this was all in aid of a health screen (my workplace regularly run free cholesterol tests, diabetes screens, etc for any interested staff), what with the free chocolate and all. The irony, after all, would be as delicious as the chocolate!
