Odd Sentence of the Day
May. 26th, 2005 08:30 pm"W-- consented, and now the table seemed to be endowed with life and manifested a great affection for W--; it rose on two legs and pressed against his breast, as if it intended to embrace him."
- Montague Summers, The Vampire in Lore and Legend. Describing a seance, which doesn't really make it *much* better.
In other news, ganked from
17catherines: Five Ways Jane Austen Never Died, which goes some way to remedy the desperate shortage of Jane Austen/Cthulhu crossovers.
In other other news - well, not really 'news', since it happened more than a month ago - last time we were in Melbourne, we taught young Ratboy a simple rule for easing our consciences while travelling in the car with
silverblue and
brandtotter:
"If one of us says something, and everybody else laughs, you are to please say 'I don't get it.'"
"Even if I do get it?"
"Especially if you get it."
Bright lad, he is :-)
