Going to Buddhist Hell for this.

Deleted: Those wacky buddists http://cbs11tv.com/international/SriLanka-ParliamentBr-ai/resources_news_html
[Story begins: "Government and opposition lawmakers brawled on the floor of Sri Lanka's parliament Tuesday, in a fistfight that injured two Buddhist monks. The scuffle broke out when members of the president's governing party tried to block Akmeemana Dayaratana a member of a Buddhist monk-led opposition party from taking his oath to become a member of Parliament, officials at the legislature said on condition of anonymity."]
ArtBlack: Are these the kung-fu sort of monks?
ArtBlack: It would be more fun if they were.
Deleted: It would, but I think they're the bead rubbinh sort
Deleted: Or the set themselves on fire kind
* ArtBlack imagines kung-fu monks on fire. THAT would be fearsome.
Deleted: Great, now I have to work that into a script
[Edit]
In unrelated news... some will remember that a few weeks back, we pulled out of house-buying at the last moment. Short version: after we'd agreed on a price, on the basis of what the agents had told us about the property, building inspection turned up about $30k worth of liabilities (pest-control, unauthorised work, etc) and survey showed there was another $30k less land on the block than we'd been told. The agents told us they had another buyer lined up ready to buy at the agreed price, so they wouldn't be coming down at all, and we wished them luck with him and walked away.
Well, according to their website, and confirmed by a phone call from
reynardo (who currently has a throat bug making her voice all gravelly and different), it's still for sale.
Heh. *Thought* they were lying about having another buyer lined up - or perhaps they really did, and he cooled on the place after discovering the same things we did.
Somehow, I don't think we'll be doing business with those guys again.
