Unexpected spam subject lines
Sep. 1st, 2006 01:40 amFeeling wakeful, got to clearing out the spam folder in my Gmail account. I noticed the spammers have taken to sampling real text lately (from ebooks, by the look of it) in order to get past filters, so I thought I'd just look through the subject lines and see if there was anything familiar. And yes, there was - the last line from one of my favourites, written by an anonymous 16th-century soldier.
Christ, if my love were in my arms, and I in my bed again!
And now I'm feeling sleepy, and both love and bed are just in the next room, so there go I.
(Story idea for the day: divination via spam. I wonder if it's already been done?)
