Argh!

...So, the day after I forked out for extra usericons, LJ gave paid users a whole bunch of icons for free. Argh! Not like I'm any worse off for the deal, but it's irritating finding that I paid for it when I didn't need to - especially because I paid for a full year's worth to save money, rather than just doing it a couple of months at a time. I appreciate that they're trying to be nice to users, but this gives me second thoughts about paying for extra content.

Oh well. It's only twelve bucks, not like it's the end of the world :-)

Can't remember who it was (edit: torin3) pointed me at this article, which concerns an incident at a Texas A&M lab where a liquid-nitrogen tank's pressure relief & rupture disks were removed after 'failing' (though I suspect 'failing' here means 'doing exactly what they're supposed to') and replaced with metal plugs.

The moral of the story, BTW, is that that isn't such a good thing to do.
