Collected idle thoughts
Jun. 19th, 2002 01:34 pmWent to look at wedding site yesterday. Cold, wet, windy. Hope weather improves, else wedding will have to be moved indoors.
Worked out vows. Yay!
Money haemorrhaging everywhere. $5 per person translates to $400 just to get cake (provided by us) cut up and put on little plates, and that's *after* beating restaurant down from $8 p.p. Paying for wedding, honeymoon stuff, rapidly becoming poor.
Rey and I went on retail-therapy binge previously to overcome pain of being poor. Not sure how this works. Went into HMV looking for instrumental recording of Gilbert & Sullivan, sans vocals, for wedding-related purposes.
HMV had sale on.
Emerged sans Gilbert & Sullivan (vocals or otherwise), sans money, but avec several very reasonably-priced DVDs. Also visited second-hand shop, where purchased DVD of '60s 'Batman' movie.
Commentary track (Adam West & Burt Ward) is very entertaining. Especially frequent bits where "this was too dangerous for Burt's stuntman, so we used Burt instead". And comments about the joys of working with Catwoman.
'Dusk Till Dawn'. Salma Hayek, avec python and slinky music. *distractedlook*
After watching about three times, was able to appreciate other actors also. Tom Savini rocks. Must look for other films with him in them.
Attempting to include as many of the following as possible in wedding: bats, Vicissitude, squid. Bats already arranged, overruled on the squid. *sulk*
Trying to concentrate on work for the next week-and-bit. Difficult...
