Performance review...

Had my first real review since I started working here in March last year. (We didn't get around to holding my six-week probationary review until around November, because my then-supervisor was barely in the country).
Have recently changed supervisors. I get along with both of them, but old supervisor (not to be confused with PhD supervisor) has barely been in the country of late, hence the delay in probationary review and his passing me on to new supervisor. New supervisor is a fellow maths geek, and of all the senior staff here by far the best-equipped to appreciate What It Is That I Do.
Review was v. positive. Got 4.5 out of 5 for "Quality of Work" and 4.0/5 overall. Supervisor happy with work to date and approves of new directions have been exploring lately. Apart from ongoing training etc, main suggestion for improvement was that I needed to promote self more.
So... go me!
Off to
sandypawozbun and
usagi's place in Adelaide tonight, for their wedding tomorrow. Awwww. Stayed up far too late packing and playing Civ III, v. tired, will head home early and snooze on plane.
Oddly, house is in state of tidiness. Frantic dining-room tidying yesterday before Rey's parents came over for dinner (bringing food with them), and then they tidied up the kitchen. Felt a bit embarrassed by this, but very much appreciate the cleaner kitchen.

And he's right about the self-promotion, if a couple of your recent entries are anything to go by. More shamelessness for you, gorgeous!
