This and that
May. 6th, 2003 09:37 amThe provisional patent application went in on Friday. This is nice, because it establishes a priority date and thus removes time pressures. (Lawyer Guy is away for the next two weeks, so getting it done by Friday was a priority.)
Went to funeral and memorial service. Angst, messy family politics, more angst for all concerned. Coped reasonably well until Sunday night, when got extremely miserable and fed up with everything. Next morning, couldn't stop shivering for two hours, even with aid of hot shower - possibly some sort of bug going around, but more likely emotional exhaustion and lack of sleep. Called in sick, went home, slept the sleep of the weary. Feeling much better this morning - still a bit sad about the whole business, but that's to be expected. Am coping.
Assembled a couple of recent purchases (an eagle and two bats). Figures are nice, but usual annoyances associated with GW stuff - pricey, poorer-quality casting, and not quite enough attention to detail. By and large I much prefer Reaper's figures, but once in a while GW make something that Reaper don't. Tonight, will fill gaps in figures with large amount of putty and then undercoat large batch, who will then sit on the bookshelf for months inspiring guilt in me for buying new figures while still having old figures to paint. It is the way of the world.
