I hate to say it, but I think it's more a case of ailurophilia than rage. We have the same exact situation at our house: we have a three-toed box turtle named Stella that earned her nickname "Battleturtle" because of her similar lunges at us, and she's madly desperately in love with our cat Leiber. She'll follow him around all day long, desperately trying to snuggle up next to him, and he'll generally stop long enough to touch noses before he bounds off and watches her chase him some more. (She has hopes of something more, but unfortunately Leiber only has eyes for our other cat Tramplemaine: our gay friends note that we're the only people in the world with a fag-hag box turtle.)
