(I've taken way too long to update all this, so my memory is getting a bit fuzzy about the tail-end of the trip...)

We flew into LAX and were met at the airport by [livejournal.com profile] notasquirrel's person and her husband B. Let's see, what did we do while we were there?

- Caught up with [livejournal.com profile] goddess_of_impe.

- Saw 'Corpse Bride'. It was lots of fun, but too short...

- Visited the King Tut exhibition. This was a bit disappointing; most of the actual Tutankhamen stuff had been removed from display, and it was padded out with things from miscellaneous other tombs. More "pyramids in general with a little bit of Tut's stuff" than a King Tut exhibition.

- Visited the La Brea Tar Pits. These were as good as I remembered them from my last visit, at age 8. There was a glassed section where visitors could look into a workroom where staff were cleaning and examining specimens from the tar. When they looked up to see [livejournal.com profile] notasquirrel staring at them through the window, they cracked up. He also got into trouble with a sabertooth tiger and various other creatures.

- Foolishly mentioned to Buzzy's person that I keep getting LPN's "La Brea Tar Pits" stuck in my head.

- Discovered, by way of retribution, that Weird Al's "(This Song Is Just) Six Words Long" sticks in hers.

- Ate a candied grasshopper, because I've always been curious about those. It tasted mostly of candy.

- Was encouraged to misbehave at a restaurant. And when I say "was encouraged", I mean the waiter kept coming by with more ammunition for me to fire at Buzzy's person.

- Bought truckloads of miniatures and DVDs, including a very cheap four-pack of the worst vampire movies I have ever ever seen. Sample dialogue: "I hope you're happy in hell, wherever you are."

- Visited the San Diego Wildlife Sanctuary (hope I have the name right) and admired all sorts of gorgeous animals.

Hmm, what else? I'm sure we did some other things, but my lawyer has instructed me not to comI can't remember what they were.
