For physics/engineering geeks, one of the most famous examples of a second torsional mode ever, with discussion on its causes available here (despite what many reputable physics texts claim, it's not simple resonance).
And Simon has one of these toys on his desk. The temptation to sneak in early and play with it before he gets to work is... well, I don't know how strong it is, because I haven't even tried to resist.
