[Update: WTF?]
Rey and I went to see Jello Biafra's spoken-word at the Enmore last night, with our friend Justin.
It was pretty good, but over-long. Show started at 8 pm. By 10:30, we were starting to fidget a bit. Then at last he seemed to be wrapping up... and a little before 11 pm, he announced an intermission. One of the helpful staff told us that it was scheduled to go until midnight, but the intermission was scheduled to start around 10.
So we decided to make our exit at half-time. I like Jello, but we had to get up for work the next day... and besides, our brains were full. There's only so much you can absorb in an evening, and I'd reached saturation point. Maybe I'll buy this one on CD some time, so I can play it back in digestible lumps.
I will say, though, he does a good impression of Blair and an excellent one of Bush. And the material about his high school geometry teacher had us in stitches. A few more chunks of light relief like that would have made it a lot easier to absorb the rest.
In other news, am no longer broke, due to extreme generosity of my great-aunt Joan, bless her soul. Should now be able to afford Christmas and house-selling expenses. Yay her.
