It's probably a sad thing that my first reaction to this theoretical ecology of vampires is neither "who cares", nor "wow, that's cool", but "wait, I think there's an error in that first expression".

Strange that he made s a constant instead of a variable dependent on H and/or V, with no living humans it would become 0.

Hmm... I think Sunnydale is established as having something like 30 000 inhabitants. (Wikipedia Pete told me so once. 38 500, when I went back to check.)
