Fish and boring stuff.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] trixtah, our fishpond now has snails and catfish to eat the algae. We're not expecting to see much impact any time soon - every rock in the pond has a green 'beard' half an inch long, and we're not even close to being able to see the bottom. But hopefully the algae-eaters will be inspired by this bounty, and go forth and multiply.

Things are, to put it mildly, a vast improvement over the Share House of Doom. (Speaking of which, Ex-Housemate called the other day to say that the agents want us to replace the burnt-out exhaust fan from the stove, and pay for gardening, and... well, the general theme is that I'm not expecting to see much of my bond money back. At least I'm out of there.)

I've been industrious enough about cooking multiple meals in one go (it's not really practical to make a single-serve stir-fry) and freezing the extra serves that the freezer is getting full, so I'm going to have to stop cooking for a bit and get on with the eating. Nom nom.

...and that's it for my exciting life. Oh, yes, one question for the WoWers out there: How is it it's easier for a hunter to learn Track Humanoids than Track Giants? How does that make sense?

Probably for the same reason it's easier to track squirrels than polar bears in real life. You have to pay the guy a LOT more money to track polar bears.

And I'm guessing this is where I find out whether my severe allergies to horse/cat/dog-spittle extend to squirrels?

If Buzzy bites you, saliva allergies are the least of your worries. He likes to make things mutate.

If I am to start mutating, I prefer it to be interesting things, and not just "OMG MAGIC ARM SWELLINGS"

Giants take giant steps? Sure, here's a footprint, can't miss it, but the next one is half a mile thataway...

Yay algae eaters! I'm thinking a wire cover for the pond before any neighborhood cats find their own personal sushi bar is probably also a plan.

It's not the neighbourhood cats I'm worried about.

"O BOI! THAT WAAAS GOOOOD! NOW TO GO SHAKE OURSELVES ON THE LIVING ROOM RUG"

right?
