Unexpected KoL messages

It's not just that KoL has a "vampire duck-on-a-string" as a weapon. It's that it produces hit messages like this one:

You dig through the ditches and burn through the witches and slam her in the back with your duckula, for 75 (+12) damage.

Edit: In other news, after having been told I'd get a second interview for the interesting-sounding job I applied for a few weeks back, have now been told that I won't after all because they've already picked somebody. *grumble*

Hahahahaha, that's awesome. :D

More KoL messages...

"You're fighting a Ninja Snowman Weaponmaster

You swing the vampire duck-on-a-string at him. Its dark wings flap in the night, inspiring 65 points' worth of terror in your opponent. ZAP! KERBLAM! ZAP! BIFF! BAM! KAPOW! ZOT! SPLAT! POW!

He calls for a time-out, as he has to stop and untangle his weapon."

The Ninja Snowman Weaponmaster amuses me no end. I have yet to show it to Bastard, though.

I think you were there that night I was singing along with those lyrics as we danced at Abyss....I'm sure that those were the lyrics....

Ahahahahahahaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Geh. I am out of work. I don't dare mention it on my own LJ because a friend was employing me :(

Still playing Nexus War instead. I've actually paid money for more character slots.

What is this fascinating sounding KoL? I must know.

That's what the I stole your accordion bumper sticker I saw the other day was! And I thought I was laughing for no good reason.

As per link above, it's a web game based on bad puns and obscure references. As an example of the tone of the game: if you donate US$10 to the server, you get an item called a 'Mr. Accessory', which gives +15 to all stats.

But if you donate ten Canadian dollars, you get the Canadian equivalent, a Mr. Eh? It used to give +12 to all stats, but Jick raised it to +13 because the exchange rate had improved...

I am a tragic KoL player. I have way too many familiars and a clan (Devilbunnies).

Awesome! A bumper sticker and an obscure reference (dah widdew bunnies) clarified - in a single post! Having just loads of free time, I am sorely tempted to get sucked in to this witty fun; or is that all the free time I'm going to have if I start playing online games and not doing my work.

One mitigating feature of KoL is that it limits how much you can play in a day. You get a base of 40 'adventures' each day; you can add to that with things like the Girls of Loathing Wall Calendar and by eating and drinking (it's the only game I know where people value cooking skills as highly as combat, and where you can get Liver of Steel as a quest reward) but once you're full that's it. It can still take a fair bit of time, but at least it's limited.

*Gives you fuzzyhugs*

I see KoL isn't imploding without me. I just don't have the Lenny Effect.
