Commuting

Have realised that previous calculations underestimated time for bus journey and waiting-for-bus. Average daily commute, return trip, is closer to five hours than four.

*grumble*

Still trying to get hang of sleeping sitting up. Railway seats, while reasonably comfortable for sitting upon, do not, alas, recline.

Is his attitude likely to change if it means losing you? I imagine this is not a situation you'd be willing to contemplate until you got to wits' end, but having worked a job which required six hours' commuting to work eight and lasted a week, I know that it can come to that - and you're probably valuable enough to them that they might be willing to compromise under those circumstances...

Don't kill yourself for the sake of the job. Even if it's a good one. *hug*

*noddle* At this point I'm not sure just what it would take to change her mind. I suspect it's probably best to put in some time and establish my bona fides before trying to negotiate days-at-home. My semi-plan is to wait until they want me to stay late, or work on a weekend, and explain that this is not possible, but maybe if they were prepared to be flexible I'd be flexible too...

We'll see.

(Looking forwards to the weekend, but :-)
