A useful skill

I have learned how to recognise the feel of a leech on my skin in time to remove it BEFORE it bites. Removed eight yesterday without blood loss. Most of them were tiny but the biggest one was about an inch and a half at full stretch; I imagine that would've drawn quite a bit if I hadn't caught it.

Then I managed to step on an upwards-pointing nail that went straight through my shoe, but my luck held - it doesn't seem to have broken the skin. Hooray!
