Another reason I'm not there
FB: Remember how we blocked all those photos of breastfeeding because they might be offensive? Well, if you're offended by rape jokes you should relax because other people might find them entertaining.
(Couple of disclaimers here: I don't agree with all of the arguments Cath Elliott makes, linking to her post for the info it contains. I have less of a problem with FB's decision to allow this content than with the double standard involved. And I don't think any subject matter is entirely off-limit for humour, but even without having looked at them I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the FB pages in question would not meet Lederhosen's criteria for "times when it's OK to joke about rape".
Oh, one more: I would prefer the deterrent against rape jokes to be not "fear of the law" or "fear of the ToS" but "knowledge that the friends and potential employers who read this might ostracise you as a result".)
