Music meme, days 25-30
Day 25: Your favorite song from 2010 (so far)
"On Paper", Tripod/Elana Stone from 'Tripod Vs. the Dragon'. I was expecting a funny D&D-themed musical, which I got, but I'd forgotten that Tripod are good musicians as well as comedians.
Day 26: Your favorite music video.
Almost anything by Peter Gabriel. Although I'm fond of RevCo's "D'ya Think I'm Sexy?" for sheer bad taste and zombies, and Rammstein do a pretty good clip. Also, Alice Cooper's "Gimme".
Day 27: One song in your mp3 folder you're pretty sure no one else has.
Umbra et Imago's version of "Rock Me Amadeus".
Day 28: One song that needs to never be played again.
"Khe Sanh", Cold Chisel. When I lived in the Blue Mountains, the radio alarm came on at 6 am. The rule was that I could stay in bed until the first Cold Chisel song, then I would get up, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, and walk 15 minutes down to the station. I don't think I ever missed the 7am train.
(I think I would probably like Cold Chisel if it weren't for the horrendous over-exposure. I will happily listen to Jimmy Barnes as a DJ, he knows his music, but Triple M have loved him to death as far as I'm concerned.)
Day 29: One song that gives you the creeps.
"Every Breath You Take", The Police. For the same reasons Sting is uncomfortable about this: people manage to mistake it for a love song, instead of the creepy stalker song it was intended to be. Pretty much any song with a "can't live without you" theme falls into this category.
Day 30: A song you'd like played at your funeral.
"Come On Up To The House", Tom Waits. Or maybe "Don't Feel Bad", Tripod/Elana Stone, if I'm feeling whimsical.
