If it is feasible, you might want to try glucosamine/chondroitin for him. We've had Aslan on it since the start of the knee-injury sagas. It's helped keep him from realizing that he's nearly 10 and really should be slowing down.

We give Aslan one Cosequin DS Chewable twice a day. Not sure what is similar on your side of the world.
