Old joke: "A statistician is somebody who, when he has one hand in a bucket of ice and the other hand in boiling water, tells you that on average he's comfortable."

I don't know about buckets, but apparently this does work for cold nights and hot laptops. I managed to give myself what seems to be a diffuse burn on my leg, which I didn't notice for some time after. Not painful and healing nicely, but I've gone back to putting something in between me and the laptop...

Oh, I know how that is; I'm glad I've pretty much annexed the tower, the monitor, the desktop PC, even if a new laptop is probably more powerful and generally better than this HD.
