This would have seemed a lot worse a week ago
Took the car in for a checkup today, because it wasn't shifting gears when it should.
Diagnosis: gearbox 'about to blow up', would cost $2200 for a replacement. We paid $4000 for the whole car several years and a hundred thousand km ago, so it's well and truly time to sign the DNR and look for a new car. Bit of a nuisance, but at least it's helping me appreciate the job I haven't started yet...
