LJ bans beards in default icons

Not intentionally, but this is too good not to mock:

...Specifically, default user picture icons are prohibited to contain overt violence, or a direct, unobstructed view of any primary or secondary sexual characteristics, regardless of the content of the icon itself.

I'm guessing that somebody thought "secondary sexual characteristics" was a good way to say "female breasts" and didn't bother to look up what it actually means.

I was wondering what all the broohaha was about boobs and LJ icons was about.

This is hilarious. .... so no nursing rabbit pictures? No hairy apes? Hairy legs anyone? No deer with antlers?

They seem to have since revised this to "no nipples/areola", but it's hard to keep track of everything, since the icon rules of the day only seem to be available as posted copies of LJ-Abuse responses rather than in the FAQ.

Sadly, it wouldn't be the first incidence of such madness. I remember a similar blow-up years back, after the furry fandom's self-proclaimed "only clean gallery" made someone take down a photorealistic image of their German Shepherd nursing her pups, because nipples were an absolute no-no in the archive!

LJ-Abuse seem to be digging themselves further and further into a hole on this one, though.
